Civil Liberty of Freedom of Religion

Included in the First Amendment is the freedom of religion. There are two parts to this freedom: the establishment clause and the free exercise clause.

What does freedom of religion mean to you?

Everything -
I claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of my own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

I think it's pretty self explanatory. Currently it seems that the problems lie in the tolerance of other religions. Acceptance and how much is going too far? When the freedom of practicing one's religion steps on the feet of law breaking and when offense is taken to extremes is where things get nasty and questionable. There are very fine lines that aren't drawn yet. Some religions are more tolerant of others and some demand more tolerance.

I just read a book called "Londonistan." I highly recommended this book. It touches upon this topic somewhat and it's scary how close we are getting to losing or so-called "freedom of religion."

I think people get confused by the separation of religion and state. It basically says that the state will not establish a religion i.e. Church of England

I am so grateful to live in a free country that allows me to worship.

I hope it stays that way.

This is for a paper you have to right, isn't it?
