2 dogs

We didn't just get one dog, we have two. So here is Puppy. He is a toy Min Pin. He is a year old and will not get any bigger than he is now. He and Roxy get along really well and they both love Ahlah the most. Ohtee is not really happy about that but is getting over it. The Dad is learning how to be the pack leader so they will obey him. Right now they do what I say for the most part and follow Ahlah everywhere.

KeeKee turns 2!!

I can't believe it, the baby is 2 years old. Stubborn, quick, and loud. Great adjectives for her! We had cake and presents. She tried to blow the candles out before we could get them both lit. Ahlah tried to help but that made KeeKee mad. We were finally able to get the candles lit and she blew them out. Happy Birthday KeeKee.

Weekend Get-Away

We had a great time. We took the days slow and loved it. Saturday we went into Disneyland and went on some rides. We even road on the big river boat. That was fun after standing in line for a while that morning. We had to go on Buzz Lightyear since we never get to ride that together. The first time we went, I tried to block The Dad's shots. He didn't think that was very funny so we had to ride again. He was happier with his score. Sunday we drove around LA. That was fun. We looked for streets that we have heard about. La Brea - we drove around the tar pits. Wilshire Blvd. - that is a very long street. We started in the middle and it still took us all the way through the area. By just staying on Wilshire, we drove past the tar pits, downtown LA, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills Blvd., Santa Monica Blvd. We found the temple and looked around. Then we drove down Santa Monica Blvd. to the beach and drove around a little there. That was a whole lot of fun. Our kids would have never wanted to just drive around in the car all day. Then Monday we went into Disneyland again and rode some more rides. We had a great time hanging out!

Valentine's Day

This is a fun day for me! Actually it is a fun week. The Dad is really good at remembering things for this week in February. Maybe he has alerts on his Outlook calendar, but that is OK. I also think this week is big for him because our anniversary is the 16Th. The two days become one, but that is OK. Every year since we have been dating, he has given me flowers for Valentine's Day. This year was no exception. They arrived from Pro-flowers.com on Monday. And he even remembered to NOT get a vase this year. The vases have been collecting over the years. So I was really impressed when he remembered. He also started out always giving roses. Now he branches out to other flowers like these tulips and iris. I think I like the variety! Then on Tuesday, FedEx came again. This time they brought a medium size box. I had not ordered anything, so this was a surprise. On the outside of the box were instructions for opening the box. "Go into room by yourself. Hide behind something. Open box, and enjoy." I was just a little bit worried about what I was going to find inside this box. Little did I know the instructions were necessary. I was glad my kids weren't home because I opened it in the kitchen. When I opened the box there was a lot of stiff Styrofoam. That was a relief because I did not want lingerie. The top part of the Styrofoam had an ice pack in it. Now I really didn't expect to find what I did inside. The Dad had 12 HUGE chocolate covered strawberries sent to me. They were beautiful and really tasty. I would say they were close to the size of a golf ball each. And the chocolate - YUMMY! This is just the start of a great week with it ending with the weekend get-a-way!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Counting the Days!!

It is Monday, and I am counting the days for Friday night to come. This Saturday will be our 12th Anniversary. We are leaving our children home with friends and going away for the weekend. I know I have already talked about this, but the excitement of leaving 4 children home while The Dad and I go away is just the best. Two and a half days of doing my own thing. Closing my eyes for 15 minutes without someone poking me or asking me a question. Two and a half days of no dirty diappers. Two and a half days of no "Mom, she's looking at me!", "Mom, he won't get out of my room!". Two and a half days of not making anyone anything to eat, for them to turn their nose at it but eat it anyway, and then be starving 15 minutes later. Two and a half days with just The Dad. It will be a nice weekend!

Skinny Picture Request

Our first trip to Yellowstone National Park outside Old Faithful. August 1996
I should have said no to the ice cream. Our fun trip to Disneyland for New Years 1999.
I was even pregnant with NeeNee in this picture. Pregnancy is the best diet for me until after the baby is born. Then I sit and start eating again.

I hurt all over!

During my travels through the box of memories, I came across a "skinny picture". You know the kind. When you were younger, more active, and before the 4 children. In this skinny picture I am holding my ice cream and The Dad's ice cream while he takes the picture. Little did I know that that ice cream would never leave my body. I have actually been working on that. I have been going to Curves for over a year now. I do really well for a while and then my body starts to hurt and I can't seem to get myself out of bed to get there. Well, for the last 2 weeks, I have gone everyday. My body hurts again. I have talked to my Doc. about it. I want to make sure I am not doing something wrong and creating more body stress than I should. That is not the case. Apparently I have to break down before I build up. I definetly feel better. I have more energy. I am drinking less Pepsi. I don't seem to freak out at my children as much. It is working. I just don't want to hurt. For Christmas, The Dad gave me a foot massager. When we first tried it, I was not certain it was worth the money spent on it. Today, I have a very different opinion. I am feeling better already. So to all those that are working to look like the "skinny picture", keep up the good work. I am in the hope boat that it is working.

Box of Goodies

Today I was looking in a box of old photos for another project.

In 1987, my sisters and I were each given a 110 film camera for Christmas with a few rolls of film. That year our cousins also came to visit. We had a blast and it seems we took pictures of everything. Most of them have our heads cut off. And all have hideous hairdoos. So I thought I would just share a few.

I felt it only fair that I add one of me. What was I thinking when I got my hair cut like that?

Then I found some that are much more fun for me to look at. Which one's the mother and which one's the daughter. (I know technology gives it away.)

It's February!!

Everyday seems to have more cramed into it which makes the time fly by. February is a busy month for our family. February 3rd, 4th, 18th, and 22nd are all birthdays for a cousin, aunt, cousin, and daughter. KeeKee will be two. I can't believe she is TWO! She just might be the most oppinionated of us all. Then the 14th is Valentine's Day, so we will be giving valentines to three classes full of children. 3 more years and we will have 4 classes of valentines. WooHoo!!!Also February 16th is our anniversary. 12 whole years. That seems like such a long time and short time all at the same time. I am looking forward to going on a weekend trip with The Dad and leave the kids at home with our good friends. I hope they will still be our friends when we get home. And I have to do laundry again. The never ending pain in my side.
